Pre-Application: Login via Corppass
1. How do I log in to the Research Grants Portal?
You need a Corppass account to access Research Grants Portal (RGP). If your Host Institution doesn’t have a Corppass administrator, find out how to appoint one.
If you have a Corppass administrator, get them to create an account for you and assign an appropriate ApplyGov e-Service role, so you can access RGP.
To get started on RGP, each user needs an Apply.gov e-service role in Corppass, and a role in RGP (via Apply.gov). Do note that in Corppass, roles can be assigned in bulk. In Apply.gov (RGP), each user must request their role individually, but a User Admin can approve all requests together on one page.

2. What are the ApplyGov User and ApplyGov User Admin roles on the ApplyGov e-service?
ApplyGov User Admin: This is a role that is assigned to an organisation's user admin, who will be able to access the user management module to approve / reject access requests from the users in your organisation.
ApplyGov User: This is a role that is given to normal users, not needing user admin access, who will need to transact on the Research Grants Portal. For e.g. Applicant, Data Admins, HI Verifiers and HI Endorsers.
3. How do I assign ApplyGov Corppass roles to access Research Grants Portal?
1. Login to Corppass. Under "e-Service Access" tab, select "Assign selected e-Services".
2. Select relevant user account(s) to assign the e-Service(s). Click "Next".
3. To access RGP, select “ApplyGov” e-Service under “Government Technology Agency of Singapore”. Click “Next”.
4. Under Role, select ApplyGov User Admin or ApplyGov User and indicate the authorisation effective and expiry dates. Click “Next”.
5. Verify the request and click “Submit”.
6. Your assigned user(s) will now able to access RGP via Corppass login with the assigned roles.
4. Is it possible for a HI User Admin to also hold other RGP roles?
If a user requires both HI Verifier and HI User Admin roles on RGP, he/she only needs to hold ApplyGov User Admin role on the Corppass end. Steps are as follows:
- Request for the "ApplyGov User Admin" role in Corppass. Your organization Corppass Admin will perform this step.
- Log in to RGP. For first time login, enter your email address to onboard. Request the role you require (e.g., "HI Verifier").
- Manually go to: apply.gov.sg/admin (This is the user admin module used to manage role approvals.)
- Approve your own role request.
5. Do Team PIs, Co-Is and collaborators need an RGP account?
Currently, Team PIs, Co-Is and collaborators do not require an RGP account to be listed as team members in the application form. However, if they need to assist with completing the application form, they will need RGP accounts before the Lead PI could share the access with them.
As best practice, when the researchers are made aware that they are to be part of a grant application by the main host institution, they should immediately inform their OREs, User Admins and Corppass Admins to onboard them to ApplyGov e-service and RGP.
6. I recently changed my email. Will this affect my RGP login? How do I update it?
You can update your email directly in RGP. Click your name at the top right corner, select Profile, and make the change there.
7. I have two email addresses from different HIs. Can I use one email for all RGP activities?
For now, each user's account from different Host Institution (HI) requires a unique email for onboarding. If you are managing grants under multiple HIs, you have to onboard separately using each respective HI email. We appreciate your understanding.
8. What if all my User Admins have left the organisation?
To avoid disruptions, please ensure there is always at least one active User Admin in your organisation. If all User Admins have left, you may appoint a new one by assigning them the "ApplyGov User Admin" role in Corppass.
9. A user accidentally requested the “Admin” role and it was approved. Even after removing the access in Corppass, they’re still getting admin notifications. What should we do?
If the person is meant to be a normal user (e.g. Applicant or HI Verifier), please update the user’s Corppass role to “ApplyGov User” instead of “ApplyGov User Admin”, and ask them to log in to RGP again.
Do note that RGP will only recognise the updated Corppass role after the user has logged in RGP at least once after the role update. Until then, notifications may still be sent based on the previous Corppass role.
10. I am an HI Finance / HI HR user in IGMS or iGrants. What role should I request in RGP?
The Finance roles on RGP is not available right now as the RGP claims module is not ready currently. In future, Finance-related roles would likely be granted the ApplyGov User role on Corppass. Technically it is possible to assign the ApplyGov User Corppass role to all users including Finance staff. However, for now, the RGP User Admin would only be able to approve roles for Applicant, Data Administrator, HI Verifier & HI Endorser on RGP as only these roles are available currently. We will update again when Finance roles are available on RGP.
